Going Green Puts Some Business in the Red
Our lives are saturated with unavoidable headlines about global warming. Our society has been warned about the imminent effects of greenhouse gases on our economy for years. Greenhouse gas emissions negatively affect our economy in areas such as public health, crop damage, transportation, local businesses, and visibility. Lawmakers, scientists and activists around the globe are demanding automakers become more environmentally-conscious. Rising global temperatures, skyrocketing fuel costs and changing weather patterns are all held up as the payback for years of neglecting the environment and of the production and use of inefficient vehicles that are designed to stoke egos more than the ecosystem. Industries like the automobile or airline have made many efforts to become more fuel-efficient and more environmentally responsible. Do you think that the issue of greenhouse gas should be of top priority to the future presidents of our nation? And is the United States doing enough about the issue, is it ok to just do our part?

I want to respond to the comment mentioned about more fuel efficeint cars. I was doing some research on the types of fuel that may replace Gas and the main topic was Hydrogen. BMW has produced a Hydrogen friendly car and is developing two Hydrogen pump stations in Germany. The plus side of hydrogen is the results that come from the exhaust pipe. Instead of carbon dioxide and other harmful chemicals produced by gas; Hydrogen produces water once burned. The only draw back about using Hydrogen as a fuel replacement of gas is the fact that hydrogen is a very volitle fuel. But I look at the problem this way, if the hydrogen does go up in flames while your pumping gas it will only put itself out through the rain it creates.
